JUPITER, FL – March 4, 2019 – Katie Klause-Newitt and Andy Newitt of A-1 Moving and Storage attended
Furry Friends Adoption’s annual Denim, White Diamonds & Paws Gala where the inaugural Hero For Animals C.I.G.O Award was presented. Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic and Ranch and The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter Tequesta hosted its annual gala on Friday, February 22 at The Club at Admiral’s Cove in Jupiter, all to raise money for their furry friends. This year’s gala presented its first C.I.G.O. Award, an award named after the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputy, Cigo, who was killed in the line of duty on December 24, 2018 after successfully apprehending a dangerous criminal. The first Cigo Award was given to Herbert Baum of Jupiter. Its purpose is to celebrate the characteristics of Courage, Integrity, Genuineness, and Outstanding commitment to animal rescue.
“We were so excited for Herbert,” said Katie Klause-Newitt, “He is so deserving of this award.
He is a true example of an animal advocate and his genuine love for animals is so apparent.”
The Newitts have a new rescue that joined their family late last year.
