Andy Newitt Elected as FMWA Chairman

For the second time Mr. Newitt has been elected to lead The Florida Movers and Warehouseman's Association (FMWA). These two year terms in office allow him to assist in leading the industry and helping consumers with their moving needs. FMWA was founded in 1979 and is comprised of forward thinking moving companies throughout the state of Florida who are committed to a Code of Ethics. Over the years, FMWA has grown to become the voice for the industry and offers consumers good advice regarding their moving questions. FMWA was instrumental in the Florida legislation that makes it a third degree felony for movers to hold goods for hostage, in an intrastate move. FMWA can be reached at www.fmwa.org. 

FMWA’s Mission StatementFMWA is a non-profit trade association, responsible for educating and protecting members and allies of the moving and storage industry. The main purposes of FMWA include:

1. Advance the best interests of the general public as it relates to the moving and storage industry.

2. Fostering good business ethics on the part of its members.

3. Promote cooperation and goodwill among its members.

4. Investigate and make recommendations as to existing or proposed legislation and to appear before legislative bodies, commissions and boards on behalf of the association.
