A-1 Moving & Storage Volunteers Assist CANstruction

June 20, 2016 | A-1 Moving and Storage

On Sunday evening volunteers from A-1 Moving and Storage assisted the teams and food bank staff at the Garden's Mall with the organized de-construction of the can sculptures.  Once all of the cans were loaded into transportation containers and loaded onto a 53 foot trailer, Dave Snook, Director of Operations for A-1 drove the canned goods to the food bank's location in Lantana.

The CANstruction Exhibit is an international project to benefit and raise awareness for the Palm Beach County Food Bank.  Architects, designers, builders and other teams compete to create giant works of sculptural art, made entirely out of non-perishable foods.  This years theme was "Fields of Dreams."

Perry Borman, the Executive Director of the Palm Beach County Food Bank says " There's an important reason why we do this and that is because 1 in 6 residents in Palm Beach County does not know where their next meal will come from."

With more than 66% of Palm Beach County's children qualifying for free or discounted school lunches, supporting the Food Bank is another way A-1 Moving and Storage gives back to the community we serve.
